BEATRICE

Doula Care | Fertility | Birth | Loss

An Indigenous Full-Spectrum Doula-in-training whose commitment to her community blossomed from a deeply personal journey. Drawn to the birthing process, Beatrice found her calling in holistic reproductive care, embracing her role with inspiration and purpose.

Devoted to offering inclusive, compassionate, and empathetic support across all stages—fertility, birth, postpartum, or the often-unseen experiences of infant and pregnancy loss—she guides each client with cultural sensitivity and a grounded presence. Currently completing her certification, Beatrice is dedicated to being fully present for clients, nurturing every experience with warmth, respect, and understanding.

The Travelling
Birthing Comb

Like the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," there is a small, wooden tool in my doula bag that carries a heavy history of courage. It’s a simple birthing comb, but it has become a sacred heirloom of the pregnancy spectrum.

Ask a Doula: Your Questions Answered

Discover the benefits of choosing Beatrice to be a part of your village.

What is the difference between a Doula and a Midwife?

Think of it this way: a midwife is your medical provider (they deliver the baby and monitor health), while a doula is your emotional and physical support. I don't perform clinical tasks like heart rate checks or exams; instead, I focus entirely on your comfort, your questions, and your confidence through all aspects of your pregnancy including fertility, birth, pregnancy or infant loss, and postpartum.

Do you only attend "natural" or home births?

Not at all! I support all births—including hospital births, medicated births with epidurals, and scheduled C-sections. My goal isn't to push a specific type of birth, but to ensure you have a positive experience, however you choose to bring your baby into the world.

If I hire a doula, will my partner still have a role?

Absolutely. I’m not there to replace your partner; I’m there to support them, too. I can suggest ways for them to be hands-on, remind them to eat and hydrate, and step in so they can take a break without leaving you alone. We work as a team to make sure you are fully surrounded by care.

Syd Barfoot

"Bea was an amazing doula and helped me through my pregnancy and postpartum, I was confident and had everything together by the time I went into labor with my little one, she made sure my wishes were met and anything stressful got taken care of. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good doula! :)"
